  • Certified Professional Dog Trainer Knowledge Assessed, from the
    CERTIFICATION COUNCIL FOR PROFESSIONAL DOG TRAINERS
    (CCPDT).  This is the top international independent certifying organization for
    Professional Dog Trainers. As a Certified Trainer I had to pass a four hour
    written exam on all facets of dog training including ethology, animal
    husbandry, the science of learning theory, classroom management, and
    teaching skills.  I also had to complete a minimum of 300 hours of dog training
    and have several references from clients, a colleague, and a veterinarian.  
    To maintain my certification I must complete 36 hours of continuing education
    every three years.

  • Raising Canine Graduate Raising Canine is the largest and most respected
    remote education service in the pet industry.

  • Certified Therapy Dog Handler of my own two therapy dogs Lizzie and
    Lucy.  I make regular visits at local nursing homes: The Colonnade and
    Frederick Mennonite Home in Montgomery County PA.

  • Certified Therapy Dog Trainer and Evaluator with Therapy Dogs
    International, Inc.

  • Certified AKC Trainer and Evaluator for the S.T.A.R. Puppy Program and
    the Canine Good Citizen Program.

  • Association of Pet Dog Trainers APDT Member.  The APDT is the
    premier professional organization for positive trainers that are committed to
    better training through education.
